Minimum Qualifications
Must have possession of a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State; certification in psychiatry by the ABPN; and two years of post-board certification experience as a member of the psychiatric staff in a psychiatric hospital and/or in the psychiatry department of a general hospital, one year of which must have included clinical supervision of other psychiatrists, psychiatric residents, or fellows.

Continued employment as either a Psychiatrist 3 is dependent upon current licensure and registration by New York State to practice medicine and certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Loss of licensure and registration may result in removal from employment.
Duties Description
As a Psychiatrist 3, you will have over-all administrative responsibility for a major treatment component organized to provide the full range of patient services. You will be responsible for ensuring that treatment programs are planned, organized, and conducted per patient needs. You will provide clinical and administrative oversight to medical staff, including psychiatrists, physicians, pediatricians, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and pharmacists; oversee the quality of treatment services provided by medical staff; perform case reviews and provide treatment to patients; provide advice and serve as a resource to lower-level facility medical staff; and collect and analyze data to enhance medication management on an ongoing basis.
