Our client, a leading Triad area anesthesia practice serving over 56,000 patients a year, is seeking a Patient Account Representative to join their team in Winston-Salem, NC. With a team of more than 30 board-certified anesthesiologists, they work with patients in settings ranging from physician offices to large regional hospitals.
The Patient Account Representative is primarily responsible for the insurance billing and collection processes of patients' and third-party payers' assigned financial classes, seeking maximum reimbursement for services rendered. This involves following up on unpaid, underpaid, and overpaid claims, ensuring that best efforts to collect the total amount due have been utilized. This position assists with other day-to-day functions of the team as well. It provides backup support to the Billing Department as needed to ensure that processes are completed promptly and accurately.
Compensation: $19/hour
Location: Winston-Salem, NC (100% onsite)
Qualifications:
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate degree or equivalent preferred
Experience
- Two years of experience in a related field preferred
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Efficient and accurate keying and data entry skills
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively while completing tasks within expected deadlines
- Ability to think analytically to make decisions
- Self-starter who can perform duties independently
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to resolve problems and draw valid conclusions
