What You Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the battery, chemical, or automotive industry.
- In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations and standards, including OSHA, EPA, and other relevant agencies.
- Experience in developing and implementing HSE programs and policies.
- Start-up and construction experience is highly desired.
- Safety and/or ISO certifications preferred.
- Bilingual in Chinese and English is a plus.
What the Job Will Look Like:
- The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of EHS programs and policies from scratch to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. This role is crucial for maintaining a safe workplace, promoting environmental sustainability, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.Provide technical guidance and hands-on support for all aspects of EHS policies and procedures in a battery manufacturing environment.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation to prevent recurrence.
- Oversee environmental compliance activities, including waste management, pollution prevention, and sustainability initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to integrate EHS considerations into the design and operation of manufacturing processes.
- Manage and deliver EHS training programs to employees, ensuring awareness and understanding of safety and environmental protocols.
- Monitor and analyze EHS performance metrics, prepare reports and present findings to senior management.
- Coordinate emergency response planning and drills, ensuring preparedness for potential incidents.
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the organization.
