Overview
As the Senior Human Resources Generalist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting business leaders within the Mid-Atlantic District, focusing on talent attraction, employee relations, total rewards, and ensuring legal compliance to meet company objectives and project goals. This role offers a unique opportunity to impact HR functions within a leading organization in the construction industry.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business leaders to forecast resource needs and track employee job status to align with district and project goals.
- Partner with intern and student talent sourcing programs to maintain a robust talent pipeline for ongoing project requirements.
- Assist the talent acquisition team in candidate screening and interview coordination across all levels of the organization.
- Manage onboarding activities and access for district-level new hires and internal transfers to provide an engaging and seamless onboarding experience.
- Conduct investigations on employee relations issues, following prescribed company processes with legal compliance support.
- Conduct exit interviews for all departing employees, ensuring proper documentation and feedback collection.
- Collaborate with legal counsel on immigration matters to maintain federal and state compliance regarding tax and document requirements.
- Develop and facilitate HR training programs on relevant processes, state or union requirements, and company policies, under supervisory oversight.
- Lead HR program initiatives, from development to implementation, as necessary.
- Track employee relations issues within assigned projects or district to identify trends, recommend solutions, and implement employee development opportunities.
- Submit and process employee information changes for new hires, transfers, terminations, compensation, and benefits updates using company-prescribed workflows.
- Uphold and support the company's values and strategic plan in all activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of HR experience, ideally within the construction industry.
- Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification required.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Proven leadership and project management skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Skilled in influencing across all levels of the business, with or without authority.
- Strong time-management skills, with the ability to maintain composure under tight deadlines or in sensitive situations.
- Advanced knowledge of employment law and HR compliance.
- Developing critical-thinking and analytical skills.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of employment records, medical information, investigations, and other sensitive employee matters.
