Sr. to Principal Android Software Engineer - Social Gaming
Location: you can either work remotely or in the company's office in San Jose, CA
Engineers at the company work an average of roughly 45 hours/week; it is not a sweat shop like stereotypical gaming companies, but it is not a 9-5 job either.
The company is founded by industry leaders in the gaming space who previously created one of the largest online gaming platforms in the world. The company’s product focuses on community, chat / text messaging, and social gaming.
The company raised a seed round of funding in 2016 and now has 6 years of runway. Revenues have been growing rapidly even during the recession. The company has about 50 employees and 38 engineers.
The company will pay very competitive salary; they are targeting a base salary of $180-250k, plus yearly bonuses, plus equity which could be very valuable.
Job Responsibilities:
- Engineering for Android, primarily using Kotlin.
- Working on a team with 2 other Android Engineers.
- Heavy hands-on coding in a small, fast-paced startup environment.
- Collaborating to architect and develop solutions for both small and large problems.
- Managing all aspects of Android development including how to build, release, version, and test applications for a large audience.
- Advocating for clients to have the best possible user experience.
Qualifications:
- Strong in Android engineering.
- Strong in Kotlin or Java.
- Experience developing a consumer Android application that had at least 1 million monthly active users.
- Passion for gaming.
- At least 4 years (the more the better) of professional experience in a similar position.
- Ability to create clean, precise code.
Nice to have:
- Strong in Kotlin.
- Experience with Kotlin multiplatform.
- gRPC.
- Experience in the gaming space.
- A graduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
