Our client, a food manufacturer/distributor in Perth Amboy, NJ, is looking for a Facility Sanitation Manager. In addition to being a hands-on manager, this position also supports plant profitability by leading sanitation efficiency, including the development of more efficient & effective cleaning methods, developing standard work, training, cleaning validation, identification & execution of annual operational savings. Bilingual Spanish Required.

Salary range $95,000-105,000/year, commensurate with experience

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates all Sanitation activities to accomplish sanitation practices according to sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOP’s).
- Maintain daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly sanitation records including master sanitation schedule and record keeping of Sanitation program.
- Maintain detailed cleaning procedure and SSOP's according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), OSHA and SQF
- Develop and implement new methods and process improvements to enhance safety performance and control costs.
- Provides input on staffing levels and participates in sourcing and interviewing candidates.
- Train, develop, coach, and supervise the teams within the department to ensure safe and effective sanitation practices.
- Provide team members have adequate tools to perform their tasks safely and correctly.
- Oversee sanitation supply ordering, inventory, and usage.
- Manages chemical re-ordering. Manage/liaison for third party contract services for sanitation chemicals and CIP systems.
- Trouble shoot problems with CIP systems and perform basic repairs. Prior experience with CIP systems required.
- Oversee Audit Sanitation SSOP’S and report audit findings. Responsible for completion of corrective action for sanitation audits.
- Assist in Coordinating and preparing plant for 3rd party GFSI audits.
Requirements Include:
- At least 4 years of experience in facility sanitation management, ideally at a food/beverage or pharmaceutical manufacturer/distributer
- Knowledge and experience with CIP systems operation, circuit layout and trouble shooting required
- Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication skills, along with simple mathematical abilities
- Strong knowledge of GMP’s, SSOP’s HACCP, SQF, OSHA, and familiarity in food manufacturing setting
- Familiar with internal and external audits to include GFSI and state inspections
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, have multitasking skills and demonstrate attention to detail.
