Salary Range: $125,000 - $145,000

Position Overview:
The Senior Controls Engineer will play a key role in designing, programming, and commissioning PLC/HMI systems for custom high-speed automated equipment. With a focus on Allen Bradley and Siemens platforms, this role involves developing programs from scratch, ensuring system safety, and working closely with cross-functional engineering teams. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving. This position includes a maximum of 40% travel for on-site commissioning and customer support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and build PLC/HMI programs from scratch based on customer specifications, primarily using Allen Bradley and Siemens platforms.
- Design safety logic and validate safety functionality in compliance with industry standards.
- Configure and program network remote I/O devices via Ethernet, Profibus, and Profinet.
- Integrate and troubleshoot custom automated systems, including conveyors, vision systems, sensors, and Fanuc robots.
- Collaborate with Electrical and Applications Engineering teams to ensure system functionality and meet customer requirements.
- Provide technical expertise for equipment setup and commissioning in the field, supporting field service engineers.
- Access equipment remotely for troubleshooting during commissioning phases.
- Maintain open communication with customers and mentor junior engineers as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in controls engineering, with a focus on custom automation or high-speed machinery.
- Proficiency in Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC/HMI programming.
- Experience with robotic integration (Fanuc) is a plus, though robotic programming is managed by a separate team.
- Familiarity with Ethernet, Profibus, and Profinet networking.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and understand project management from an electrical/controls perspective.
