The **Contract** Accounting Manager will work On-Site in the Louisville, KY office.
**Starts ats 3 month contract + possible extension or conversion to FTE**
RATE: Up to $72 W2 hourly (depending on experience level)
Requires BA/BS in Business (accounting preferred), MBA preferred + 10 years of progressive experience in a major company or division of a large corporation. Prefer Manufacturing background
The Accounting Manager responsible for the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of Company's reported financial reports and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
Essential Functions:
- Leads the month end reporting and analysis process for month end close, quarterly POR updates, annual profit review, financial review, and ongoing site reviews.
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Oversee the business accounting operations including overview of Emerson shared service operations for AR, AP, GL, and fixed assets management.
- Issue timely and complete financial statements.
- Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations.
- Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics.
- Ad hoc reporting, support, audits, ICQ
- Manage the production of the annual budget, forecasts, and calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.
- Provide financial analyses as needed, for capital investments, pricing decisions and new product development.
- Other duties as assigned.
Other Functions:
- Some travel – domestic as needed to company business units as well as to potential acquisitions to conduct due diligence.
- Success factors: analytical, quantitatively oriented, synthesize and communicate, organized, problem solver, handle deadlines, technical accounting skills.
- Periodic weekend or evening work as needed.
Requirements:
Education: BA/BS in Business (accounting preferred), MBA preferred
Experience: 10+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation
Specific Skills: Microsoft Excel, fundamental understanding of an ERP system, problem solving Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc. Strong understanding of general accounting, financial modeling
