Our client, a respected law firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to support their dynamic legal team. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and a high level of professionalism in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be responsible for managing administrative tasks for assigned attorneys, ensuring smooth operations and top-notch client service.
Key Responsibilities: Administrative Operations: Efficiently manage day-to-day operations for assigned attorneys, ensuring timely completion of projects and adherence to quality standards. Client & Team Communication: Act as a liaison between attorneys, clients, court staff, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear and professional communication. Document Management: Review, proofread, and arrange the filing and distribution of court documents, pleadings, and official legal filings with precision. Scheduling & Coordination: Manage attorney calendars, schedule appointments, coordinate travel arrangements, and handle reimbursements and payments. Case Management: Maintain attorney-specific case lists, track deadlines, and manage case statuses to ensure organized case flow. New Matter Procedures: Oversee the opening of new matters, ensuring signed retention agreements and retainers are collected. Professionalism: Maintain a high standard of professionalism when interacting with opposing counsel, court staff, and other legal professionals.
Qualifications: Knowledgeable in Legal Procedures: Strong understanding of legal processes, civil procedure, and document management. Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with legal software such as ProLaw, NetDocs, Worldox, or similar platforms is preferred. Organized & Detail-Oriented: Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail in proofreading legal documents. Problem-Solving & Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with attorneys and clients. Experience: 4+ years as a litigation legal assistant or secretary in a law firm preferred. Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience required.
