About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Procurement Manager to join our team in New Braunfels, TX. This position is integral to our construction projects, ensuring that materials, equipment, and services are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with project timelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement for construction or related industries, excellent negotiation skills, and a keen understanding of supplier management and contract administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management: Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company goals. Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term relationships to ensure quality and reliability.
- Cost Management: Work closely with project managers and finance teams to manage budgets. Track and report on material costs, negotiate discounts, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and manage vendor and supplier contracts to ensure compliance with terms, conditions, and specifications. Handle contract renewals and amendments as necessary.
- Inventory and Logistics Coordination: Oversee inventory levels for key materials to ensure availability while minimizing excess stock. Coordinate with logistics teams for timely delivery of materials to project sites.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risks related to supply chain and procurement. Develop contingency plans and alternative sourcing strategies to mitigate supply disruptions.
- Vendor Performance Evaluation: Establish metrics to assess vendor performance, ensuring suppliers meet quality, delivery, and service expectations. Conduct regular reviews and manage corrective actions as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in procurement, ideally within the construction, manufacturing, or heavy industries.
- Skills: Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills. Proficient in procurement software and MS Office Suite.
- Certifications: Certification in supply chain or procurement management (e.g., CPSM, CPIM) is a plus.
