As a Senior CPA in our Tax Department, you will work closely with others to plan for the future and to help successful companies and individuals avoid surprises, and coordinate tax strategies. You will provide support to your teammates and clients and communicate regularly with them to understand their businesses and industries. The position can be based out of our Morganton or Hickory office.
To be successful in this role, it is essential that you bring a strong sense of ownership for delivering high-quality service to clients and experience servicing multiple client engagements and have the ability to work well with a team as well as independently. The ideal candidate will have a solution-finding attitude, precise attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure and against target dates.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare complex tax returns for individuals and businesses
- Assist tax management with review of tax returns
- Conduct tax research and planning
- Assist in developing and coaching professional tax staff
- Help to develop and manage client relationships
- Provide timely and unmatched client service and exceed client expectations
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or other business-related field
- CPA in good standing
- Minimum of 5 years' relevant progressive experience in public accounting or a combination of corporate tax and experience in public accounting required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Prosystems fx Tax and Engagement software
- Industry experience preferred in real estate, high net worth individuals, corporations, pass through entities, and non-profits
