We are looking for a User Acceptance Tester (UAT) is responsible for ensuring that the Pathways system functions according to business requirements, meets user needs, and adheres to all functional and regulatory standards. The UAT team is crucial in identifying defects and ensuring the system is intuitive, functional, and ready for use by end-users, particularly focusing on usability, security, and performance in real-world scenarios.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Planning and Strategy:
- Execute the testing strategies outlined in the Master Test Plan
- Define and develop test cases, test data, and testing environments in collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs), business analysts (BAs), and other staff.
Test Case Development and Execution:
- Create and execute test cases for functional testing, regression testing, end-to-end scenario testing, report validation, and data validation.
- Conduct smoke testing and ensure proper setup of test environments to simulate end-to-end scenarios.
- Perform specialized testing such as ADA compliance testing, defect validation, and retesting.
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor testing progress and report on the status of test executions, defects, and areas for improvement.
- Assist in tracking and validating end-user test results, and compile detailed reports on testing metrics.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the UAT Test Manager, MDCPS staff, and other relevant teams to coordinate testing efforts.
- Participate in meetings and discussions regarding test coverage, progress, and defect resolution.
Quality Assurance:
- Support the definition of quality metrics and acceptance criteria, and follow all quality assurance processes.
- Conduct quality reviews, audits, and generate testing progress reports.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks or challenges in the testing process and suggest mitigation strategies.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience:
- 4+ years of experience in software testing, including UAT, functional testing, and regression testing.
- Experience working with large-scale system implementations, preferably in child welfare, human services, or similar sectors.
Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with test management tools and defect tracking systems.
- Understanding of ADA compliance testing and federal CCWIS requirements is preferred.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and meet deadlines under pressure.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with automated testing tools.
- Knowledge of Comprehensive Child Welfare Information Systems (CCWIS).
