About the Role
We’re looking for an enthusiastic Associate, Growth Merchant Lead (aGML) for Emerging Markets to join our Outside Sales team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for generating new business within a designated territory and driving our company’s expansion into untapped and emerging markets. You’ll travel frequently to connect directly with local and regional restaurant owners, demonstrating the value of partnering with us, and negotiating mutually beneficial terms to bring these businesses onto our platform.
This is a highly mobile, "in-market" position, with a fast-paced, transactional sales cycle. You’ll collaborate with a Regional Sales Manager and have access to a variety of resources, including marketing materials, sales tools, and strategic insights to help you succeed. With 50% or more travel required, travel expenses will be covered, ensuring you have the flexibility to expand our footprint across rural and underserved areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Expansion: Travel extensively to emerging, often rural, markets, building our company’s presence from the ground up in new territories.
- Sales Execution: Present the benefits of partnering with our platform to restaurant owners, closing new business deals quickly, often within days.
- Relationship Building: Forge meaningful connections with restaurant partners, helping them understand the potential for growth through our platform.
- Deal Negotiation: Craft partnership agreements that align with company goals while delivering value to local businesses.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Sales Experience: 2.5+ years in a sales or related role, with a proven track record of closing deals.
- Flexibility and Mobility: Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time, with visits to meet restaurant owners in person to drive partnership growth.
- Strategic Approach: Able to balance inside and outside sales tactics to efficiently reach targets.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: Skilled at creating strategies and processes that enable scalable success in new markets.
