Install, customize, test, implement, document, and support independent software vendor (ISV) products as required (this includes user modifications that require customization for release levels or related to site requirements) and work with the vendors on problems and resolution
Use IBM SMP/e to successfully receive and apply z/OS software and other related software on an IBM Mainframe. This includes interpreting SMP/e output messages to resolve software installation issues and requirements, use SMP/e panels to manage software installation packages, define SMP/e required parameters to successfully install and maintain OS and associated software products.
Experience working with z/OS, JES2, SMP/E, TSO, IOCP/HCD, Parallel Sysplex
The candidate will be required to provide production off hour coverage (if necessary) and support periodic weekend implementations
Create, populate, secure and troubleshoot IBM z/OS USS (UNIX Systems Services) file systems and mount points. Manage the USS environment on an IBM z/OS mainframe platform.
Create/update and debug z/OS parameters using PARMLIB
Plan, create and update accurate, detailed documentation for IBM z/OS mainframe platform software/hardware installation/upgrades
Use IBM z/OS mainframe communications products, including Virtual Telecommunications Access Method (VTAM), Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and File Transfer Protocol (FTP).
Create, update, and debug Job Entry Subsystem (JES2) parameters and statements.
Fully understand z/OS services structure, JES concepts, parallel sysplex, Catalog management
Expertise in tuning and debugging performance problems for z/OS systems including application workloads
Perform problem diagnostics and resolution. Monitor system performance and tune when required
Capable of z/OS Performance Analysis using various tools such as IBM's RMF, SMF and subsystem analysis tools
Knowledge in designing CFRM structures.
Installing z/OS upgrade knowledge
Salary Range: $120,000-$140,000 per year
