Global investment management leader is looking for an Associate Director involved in GAAP financial reporting oversight, deal tracking & structuring and investment accounting within the deal advisory team.
**$210-$250k Total Comp (base + annual bonus)**
**Hybrid 3 days/week onsite**
The position is clearly designed for someone with a deep understanding of investment deals, accounting principles, and the deal lifecycle across multiple asset classes.
Key Responsibilities
- GAAP Reporting & Compliance:
- Ensuring that complex deals adhere to US GAAP reporting requirements, highlighting the need for solid knowledge in accounting standards.
- Investment Deal Tracking & Structuring:
- Active involvement in managing the entire deal lifecycle, from tracking deals in the pipeline to structuring and post-close activities.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Working closely with investment teams, front-, middle-, and back-office staff to ensure accurate recording of investments and transactions.
- Translating key deal terms into clear accounting entries, which requires strong technical accounting knowledge.
- Project Management & Special Initiatives:
- Handling special projects such as analyzing investments, system migrations, or implementing new accounting standards.
- Identifying opportunities to streamline processes, which may involve leveraging technology to increase efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- Educational & Professional Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with a CPA being highly preferred.
- Experience:
- At least 5+ years of experience, preferably in Big 4 public accounting or in an investment accounting or structuring/advisory role within industry.
- Skills & Expertise:
- The ability to work as a subject matter expert (SME) in investment accounting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with various teams and senior stakeholders.
- Proven ability to resolve complex accounting issues, such as income, amortization, and cash flow anomalies.
- Core Competencies:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- A self-motivated, analytical mindset that focuses on problem-solving and streamlining workflows.
- Ability to mentor and teach staff across accounting functions.
