Basic Job Functions: Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Responsible for educating plant personnel on proper equipment operation, tuning and maintenance
- Daily involvement in either long distance or hands-on troubleshooting
- Responsible for maintaining records and logs for various programs
- Daily communication with both management and hourly employees at the Plant and Corporate Levels
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s/Associates degree, applicable training certification, or related work experience.
- Willingness to travel about 80%, including some international travel.
- Demonstrated ability to perform and excel within an ever changing and dynamic environment.
- Have the ability to program and understand sorting machine programs and PLC code.
- Proficient in MS Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Experience with Rockwell Controls Software and AutoCAD desirable.
- Open to working flexible hours in order to meet production goals.
- Demonstrated hands-on proficiency in mechanical conveying systems, low pressure (<150 psig) pneumatics, PLC and electronics controls, low voltage (<480 V) electrical, and HMI interface systems
- Basic understanding in the principles of eddy current and electro-magnetic induction sensor/sorting technologies is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and systems assessment skills
- Strong problem resolution skills and the ability to readily identify system deficiencies.
