Must Haves:
- 3+ years of experience working with iSeries data backups
- Knowledge of BRMS (Backup recovery and media services), Netbackup, Data Domain VTL, etc.
- Ability to validate processes to ensure successful completion of system backups
- Ability to analyze backup process to address any data exposures and modify the process to include any missing libraries, etc.
- Basic knowledge of networking, cabling, switches, etc.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Plusses:
- Experience working with financial or transactional data specifically
- Bachelor's degree
Day-to-Day:
Insight Global is looking for an iSeries Systems Admin to join a fortune 500 heavy-equipment rental company and sit fully remote (preferably in Mesa, Arizona). This person will be in charge of daily validation of backup recovery and media services for a variety of data sets (specifically financial and transactional data) to ensure successful completion of critical system backups and address any failures. On a day to day, responsibilities include: monitoring the growth of the backup process from a size and time perspective for future resource planning, and utilizing knowledge of Data Domain VTL (Virtual Tape Library) to manage the virtual tapes to address growth. This role is fully remote, however some travel to the Masa, Arizona location is preferred.
