As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will: • Spearhead or assist requirements development and management. • Develop and direct subsystem and component performance specifications by evaluating and deriving necessary requirements. • Develop and maintain requirements verification and compliance and supporting artifacts. • Support requirements decomposition analysis to help drive concept architectures and system characteristics. • Direct and facilitate architecture development of assigned system, subsystems, and components. • Drive development and maintenance of interface requirements and interface design information for assigned sub-system, system and components. • Document concept design selections and generate System/Subsystem Design Descriptions (SSDDs) and capability assessments. • Coordinate and facilitate formal decisions and trade studies to drive design and document results. • Support the actualization and monitoring of cost, schedule, and risk. • Coordinate Systems Engineering activities to influence the design. • Support vehicle level Systems Engineering activities and program milestone reviews.
Skills Required
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 6+ year’s relevant experience. • Systems engineering experience performing requirements evaluation, derivation and allocation, and translating requirements to viable concepts design solutions within applicable constraints. • Experience developing architecture concepts and evaluating alternatives. • Knowledge of how to balance system design considering system concept of operations (CONOPS), performance, constraints, and logistics concerns. • Knowledge of how to plan, conduct and document complex trade studies. • Knowledge of how to generate System / Subsystem Design Descriptions and capability assessments per the program statement of work. • Excellent oral and written communication know-how.
• Logical architecture experience, including development of use cases. • Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), including SysML methodology and tools like Cameo. • Familiarity with (DoDAF). • Experience with DOORS requirements management tool.
