Director of Marketing Strategy
As the Director of Marketing Strategy, you will lead a lifecycle marketing team building the Sportsman’s Warehouse brand in the recreational outdoors industry, while driving new acquisitions and growth of the existing customer base. This role interfaces directly with senior leadership across the company to align on strategic growth opportunities and build and deliver innovative marketing strategies. This role requires a strategic thinker who can balance creativity with a keen analytical mindset to optimize our marketing processes and maximize ROI. Responsibilities:
- Marketing Vision:
- Establish the overall direction in connection with the vision. Lead the delivery of strategy in order to acquire, grow, and retain customers.
- Marketing Strategy:
- Create integrated marketing strategies and align KPIs and measurement plans to drive business results.
- Leverage expertise in SEO, content marketing, social media marketing, and data analytics to maximize reach, engagement, and lead generation.
- Serve as the SME and thought leader to deliver recommendations and use influence to build consensus and drive prioritization. Ensure the team proactively adapts to and optimizes for a changing business environment.
- Create strategies that deliver outcomes across multiple customer segments and/or business lines that align with the established vision.
- People Leadership:
- Direct and lead multi-functional teams and remove barriers, while establishing a relationship as a trusted advisor to business leaders to deliver desired outcomes.
- Responsible for performance management, continuous coaching, and development of employees to ensure that they can achieve business results and adapt to evolving business strategies.
- Data and Analytics:
- Develop and deliver regular performance reports with insights and recommendations for continuous improvement of marketing efforts.
- Tie marketing results to business impact; use data and outcomes to prioritize marketing strategies and create accountability for high-impact marketing delivery against business objectives.
- Budget:
- Establish the budget and apply policies and practices for planning and administering a budget.
Qualifications:
- 12+ years of experience.
- Deep experience building brand and marketing strategies to support content strategy, build awareness, generate leads, and support clients through their lifecycle.
- Ability to influence the growth of the business by connecting high-impact marketing strategies to business outcomes, challenging convention, and bringing new ideas to the team.
- Deep understanding of marketing measurement and the ability to tie marketing results to business impact; using data and outcomes to prioritize marketing strategies and create accountability for high-impact marketing delivery against business objectives.
- Ability to nurture high-performing teams and develop top marketing talent; working seamlessly across organizational lines to create a “one-team” approach supporting business outcomes and driving engagement.
- Experience working with a lean team and operating at both a strategic and tactical level as a department of one.
- Ability to tell a compelling story about marketing strategy and impact across audiences; communications should inspire and rally the organization behind the vision.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or a directly related field. An MBA is a plus.
