Position: Principal Engineer – Wireless RF Systems

As a Principal Wireless RF Systems Engineer, you will focus on defining system requirements for RF components such as PA/LNA/Switches/Filters, driven by evolving standards, customer needs, and partner Cellular Wireless SoC features. You will bring a broad understanding of Cellular Wireless Systems in Automotive and IoT products. This high-visibility role reports to the Director of Systems Engineering and collaborates closely with Marketing, Design, Applications, and Customer/Partner Engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Assess cellular wireless system specifications and define next-generation RF front-end modules.
- Analyze RF signal chains using system simulation tools, evaluating metrics like Gain, Noise Figure, Linearity, Power Efficiency, and Co-existence.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, and Applications Engineering teams to engage with customers and SoC partners, conduct competitive analysis, and translate requirements into product definitions.
- Work with Design Engineering to analyze technical aspects of future RF front-end module production.
- Validate product performance through simulations, prototypes, and lab measurements.
- Participate in conferences, trade shows, regulatory and standards bodies, acting as a bridge between the organization and external subject matter experts.
Skills:
- BSEE with 10+ years of experience or MSEE with 8+ years of experience, including 3-5 years in Cellular front-end module development.
- Knowledge of 3GPP Cellular Standards as they apply to RF products.
- Experience with wireless sub-systems and simulation tools such as ADS, SystemVue, or similar.
- Proficiency in programming (C/C++, Matlab/Simulink, LabView or equivalent).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work in a team with complementary skill sets and diverse backgrounds.
