The Chief Nursing Officer assumes oversight responsibility for the provision of safe, effective and high-quality care throughout the hospitals inpatient main campus and satellite location in Brooklyn and outpatient department.
The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is responsible for the development and implementation of the hospital wide plans to provide nursing care, treatment and services. Assumes orientation and ongoing education of the Nursing Staff for attainment of departmental goals and objectives. Responsible for the development and implementation of an effective, ongoing program to measure, analyze and improve the quality of nursing care, treatment and services. Responsible to carry out the hospital’s mission and philosophy to meet the physiological, safety, spiritual, and psychosocial needs of patients and families.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of NLN - accredited nursing program.
- Current New York State Registered Nurse license.
- Master's degree in Nursing or related field required. ANCC Certification in Nursing Administration or Nursing Administration, Advanced is preferred.
- Ten (10) years of experience in nursing with minimum of six (6) years progressive responsibility at the Director/administration level.
- Demonstrated competency in clinical nursing and administration..
- Demonstrated excellence in communication in both the written and spoken word.
- Exhibits an ability and attitude relative to the spirit of caring and tradition at Calvary Hospital as required by specific job duties and functions.
