Job Summary
The Fiduciary Paralegal position for Advocacy Trust LLC (“AT”) will support AT’s Chief Fiduciary Counsel and Associate Fiduciary Counsel by assisting with legal and administrative matters impacting the trust company and its fiduciary accounts.
This role entails assisting with the preparation of documents related to both the onboarding and closing of fiduciary accounts, tracking outside counsel engagements, supporting legal department initiatives, and assisting with activities around estate and conservatorship appointments. The Fiduciary Paralegal also provides general administrative support to the fiduciary legal team and participates in corporate governance activities, such as serving as Secretary of various committees. This position will report to AT’s Chief Fiduciary Counsel and will work closely with Associate Fiduciary Counsel.

Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of AT’s acceptance, resignation, non-judicial settlement agreements, and other documents related to the administration of trusts.
- Track various legal department functions including outside counsel engagements, legal reviews of trusts, and requests for assistance with account closings.
- Support of corporate governance activities such as serving as Secretary of Trust Administration Committee (TAC) and Trust Investment Committee (TIC).
- Manage updates of trust company policies and procedures as directed.
- Conduct legal research, provide detailed and concise summaries to support fiduciary decision-making, and maintain organized records of research findings.
- Provide general administrative support to the Fiduciary legal team including drafting correspondence, scheduling, and managing requests for legal advice, review, and outreach.
- Support activities related to estate and conservatorship appointments.
- Assist with the creation of legal department forms and templates.
- Coordinate and manage projects related to various legal department initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate’s degree required. Paralegal certificate is a plus.
- 2+ Years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with larger groups on projects.
- Professional manner with the ability to exercise judgment and adhere to policy guidelines.
- Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe.
- Knowledge or exposure to fiduciary, tax, or banking laws and regulations is a plus.
