Our client in Union, IL is looking for an experienced IT Support professional to be their sole onsite Help Desk Administrator for their Union, IL location. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of prior experience being the sole onsite IT support person, adept at troubleshooting Windows based technical issues independently, knowledge of Active Directory Administration, Server Maintenance & basic Networking concepts.
This is an onsite 5-days per week 6 month contract role in Union, IL.
Job Responsibilities:
- PC and Laptop Support: Set up, manage and troubleshoot hardware, including desktops, laptops and peripherals, and ensure they comply with IT standard configurations.
- IT and System Maintenance: Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs.
- Troubleshooting: Address user tickets relating to hardware, software, and networking issues efficiently and effectively, ensuring smooth operations and minimizing downtime.
- Software Installation/Upgrade: Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot for IT-approved software.
- Network Support: Assist in network troubleshooting, including diagnosing issues with switches, access points, and routers.
- Telecommunications: Troubleshoot issues with the company's VoIP system, including device configuration, voicemail setup and network troubleshooting.
- Conduct regular inventory audits, ensuring all IT equipment and hardware are accounted for and in optimal working condition.
Key Qualifications & Skill Set:
- Help Desk Ticketing System: Ability to effectively manage and resolve tickets submitted by end-users in a timely and courteous manner.
- End-User Desktop Support: Demonstrated experience in providing technical assistance with software, hardware, and peripherals.
- M365 Support: Proficiency in assisting with Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Excel, OneDrive, Teams and more.
- MS Windows Client Support: Capability to troubleshoot and support Windows operating systems.
- Network Equipment: Experience in maintaining and supporting network hardware such as switches, access points, and routers.
- 3CX VoIP Phone System: Aptitude for supporting and troubleshooting issues with VoIP phone systems.
- Documentation: A knack for documenting system configurations, procedures, and best practices effectively.
- Active Directory & Group Policy: Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, and VPN is a significant advantage.
- Shop Floor Manufacturing Systems: Ability to support systems such as Makino, DMG Mori, and DNC will be favorable.
