Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Director to lead our Emergency Services team in Great Falls, MT. This role involves full-time day shifts, with additional availability for night shifts, weekends, and potential staffing support during shortages in the ED. The Director will report directly to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and oversee a team of approximately 19 FTEs. The ideal candidate will bring extensive Emergency Department and leadership experience, demonstrating a commitment to high-quality patient care and effective team management.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Oversight: Direct and manage all aspects of the Emergency Department, including supervising approximately 19 FTEs. Ensure staffing aligns with patient care needs and provide hands-on support in staffing shortages.
- Operations Management: Oversee daily operations within the ED, maintaining a consistent standard of care and responding to high-stakes scenarios as required. Average case volume is approximately 30-35 patient visits per day.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with hospital leadership to develop and implement strategies to improve department performance and patient outcomes.
- Budget & Resource Management: Oversee the department’s budget, ensuring resource allocation aligns with strategic objectives and staffing requirements.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all operations comply with federal, state, and hospital regulations and guidelines.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Emergency Department setting, with a proven track record in leadership roles.
- Certification: Active RN license; additional certifications in emergency nursing (e.g., CEN) are a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $95,000 - $115,000, based on years of experience.
