ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Test set up of Automotive HVAC systems, modules, heat exchangers or sub-components such as blowers and actuators in order to perform performance measurements or durability life cycle testing
- Learn the principles of a refrigeration cycle and the function of all the components and be proficient in diagnosing refrigerant system issues
- Installation of instrumentation and equipment to monitor the test parameters including measurements of temperature, pressure and flow
- Interface with computer based electronic test systems
- Understand and execute tests efficiently and correctly
- Observes consistency in test data, interpretsresults and report irregularities to test engineer
- Learn to diagnosis and resolve test component or bench issues, perform basic repairs and maintenance
- Ability to cross training in various Test Laboratory positions, become proficient in multiple test bench operations
- Take direction from test area supervisor and senior test technicians for daily assignments
- Must keep work area clean and orderly
QUALIFICATIONS
- In pursuit of a college degree in a related mechanical discipline: AAS Automotive/Mechanical/Electrical Technology
- Effective interpersonal skills. Must work and communicate well with co-workers
- Proficient with PC based software such as MS Windows/Office
- Able to write routine reports, procedures, and correspondence
- Able to communicate effectively with peers, managers, and directors, and to present to groups of customers or employees of the organization
- Values and considers the perspectives and backgrounds of all parties
- Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions provided in both verbal and written communications
