Brief Job Description
These EC teaching positions are 40-hours per week, and for all grade levels available, such as Prekindergarten, elementary school, middle schoolers, and high school populations, too. We need Educators who are committed to seeing our students work on their occupational therapy skills. September start and complete the 2024-25 school year.
Acceptable Categories
- Cross Categorical.
- Severely/Profound Disabled; or
- Special Education: Adapted curriculum
Duties
- Experience working with students in an Extended Classroom.
- Able to evaluate a student’s individual learning skills and abilities.
- Understands the importance of each student's educational needs.
- Develop Individualized Educational Programs (IEPs) for each student.
- Familiar with various Adaptive technology and teaching tools.
- Work with students in a classroom environment, small group, or individually.
- Educate students on daily living skills tools and provide them with educational tools need.
- Understands special needs and challenges students with learning disabilities.
- Disabilities include emotional/behavioral (EMD), intellectual disabilities (ID), autism (AU), and other disabilities (MHD).
- Communicate with parents, families, school staff and Administrators.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or Adapted Curriculum
- Valid Professional Educator's licensure through North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI).
- Certified to teach in and Adapted Extended classroom to age approximate students
