Project is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Tax Compliance to join our team. The Director of Tax Compliance will be responsible for overseeing the company's tax compliance processes and planning while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws. This role requires a deep understanding of tax regulations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to lead and work with others.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management, preparation and/or oversight of all company tax returns and state filings: US Corporate (1120S), State Income/Franchise, Sales and Use Tax, International Income, Property Tax, State Annual Reports and Business Licenses, FBAR Reporting, FATCA Reporting, Vendor Master and Form 1099 Reporting
- Management, preparation and/or oversight of all employment returns
- Manage outsourced tax service providers
- Participate and advise on due diligence for US and foreign acquisitions
- Identify and implement ways to reduce the company’s tax liability
- Manage all US tax audits and governmental inquiries
- Provide US and international tax advice on specific projects and programs
- Interact, when necessary, with clients on specific tax issues
- Develop, implement, monitor and report on internal controls and processes for tax related areas
- Support requests from other departments
- Provide tax support to payroll functions for Project US Agencies (office and shop)
- Identify and mitigate risk for tax related areas
- Identify and implement tax changes/updates relevant to the business
- Corporate training seminars on various tax topics
- Lead and develop a team of tax professionals, providing guidance and support
- Other responsibilities as defined by the CFO
Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor Degree in accounting, preferably an MBA and/or CPA
- Career experience in corporate taxation
- Ability to interpret complex financial data
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent project management skills

- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to understand ERP system information and structure (currently JD Edwards)
