About the Role
As a Founding Design Engineer, you will be the pioneer of our UI/UX efforts, crafting intuitive and engaging user interfaces for our AI-powered tools. You'll work closely with engineers and product managers to bring complex functionalities to life in a user-friendly manner. Your role will be crucial in shaping the user experience of our products from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement user interfaces for web applications using TypeScript and React
- Collaborate with the engineering team to integrate frontend designs with backend functionalities
- Develop and maintain design systems and component libraries
- Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions
- Write technical documentation related to UI/UX designs
- Participate in recruiting efforts to build out the design team
Qualifications
- Must have startup experience and US work authorization
- Strong ability to create top-quality UI/UX designs in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in TypeScript, React, and modern web development practices
- Experience with design tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
- Understanding of frontend performance optimization
- Ability to balance aesthetic design with functional requirements
- Eagerness to own design problems end-to-end and collaborate cross-functionally
Nice to Have
- Experience with backend technologies like Node.js or Rust
- Formal education in Design, HCI, or related fields
- Familiarity with AI and NLP concepts
