Unit Description:
The Medical/Surgical/Telemetry unit is a 45-bed remote telemetry unit treating acutely ill patients with medical problems related to renal disease, cardiac disease, respiratory disease, and other medical issues including post-surgical and dialysis patients. We value teamwork and strive to give the best possible care to each patient.
Full Time Hours: 36 hours per week
Shifts:
• Day Shift 6:45 am- 7:15 pm
• Night Shift 6:45 pm - 7:15 am
• Every other weekend obligation
Job Summary:
The LPN utilizes nursing process under the direction of the RN to deliver patient care.

Job Description
Provide direct patient care according to established policies and procedures under the direction of a RN.
Administers medication according to scope of practice, performs reassessments, collects data, takes histories, initiates IV access, provide wound care and assists in activities of daily living.
Documents in the medical record, findings and information.
Communicate appropriate medical and clinical information to the staff as required.
Demonstrates sensitivity to patient comfort and privacy.
Maintains confidentiality of patient and unit care data.
Provides first line customer service response.
Follows the MUSC Standards of Behaviors.
Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Additional Job Description
Graduate from an accredited Practical Nurse program. Licensed as an LPN within the state of South Carolina or a compact state.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
