The Director of Packaging position is a key role within our strategic plan for ACG Supply Chain. An enthusiastic self-starter with a strong drive to improve existing processes and systems. Excellent organizational skills, ability to balance immediate and long-term priorities. Exceptional multitasking skills are a necessity.
This role will be responsible for the development of the sourcing strategy (contracting, supply-chain, and supplier quality) of corrugate, film, and a variety of other smaller packaging categories that support the overall production of finished goods.
This position is a leader who is strategic, a subject matter expert, forward looking, solid communicator, and can build long term relationships with suppliers.

WORKING RELATIONSHIP
- Reports to the Chief Procurement Officer.
- Will work directly with all levels of organization
- Will work with all aspects of the business including company leadership, plant scheduling, logistics, production, sales, marketing, product design, and finance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the development and execution of the annual operating plan for packaging and procurement.
- Oversee the execution of the contracting strategy, development of new sourcing, and innovative productivity savings goals.
- Develop a packaging team focused on growth for future and collaboration, specifically focused on cost savings and innovation.
- Teach team aspects of category ownership and execution to completion
- Build global sourcing strategies and best in class procurement execution.
- Communicate with marketing, sales, and operations as to timelines to be met for new innovation projects
- Own and maintain monthly P&L based on forecasted prices and demand
- Maintain working professional relationships with all assigned suppliers.
- Communicate with vendors regarding requirements and performance using KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)

REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 10 years of food industry packaging procurement leadership experience
- Experience planning and leading strategic initiatives
- Strong project reporting skills, with a focus on interdepartmental communication
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of production and processing
- Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Quick Learner
- Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
EDUCATION
- Must have a High School Diploma or a G.E.D.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience preferred
