Job Title: Operations Manager

Position Summary:
The Operations Manager provides leadership, direction, and support to all warehouse staff, ensuring the effective and efficient execution of daily warehouse operations. This role involves managing a team of 60+ employees across various departments, including inbound, outbound, eCommerce, inventory, carrier management, and order processing. The Operations Manager is responsible for the productivity, quality, accuracy, safety, and staffing of the entire warehouse while maintaining compliance with legal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Provide leadership and direction to all warehouse staff for effective execution of daily operations.
- Manage a diverse team of 60+ employees across various departments, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Resolve employee issues effectively, promoting a positive work environment.
- Oversee warehouse operations primarily from Monday to Friday, with the ability to support and manage a second shift and weekends when necessary.
- Review and prepare workflow, staffing, and space requirements, ensuring equipment layout and action plans meet productivity, quality, and customer service standards.
- Productivity and Quality Control:
- Responsible for the entire warehouse's productivity, quality, and accuracy, implementing best practices and standard operating procedures.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and enhance operational efficiency.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures while ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to minimize risks and promote a safety-first culture.
- Maintain maintenance schedules for all warehouse equipment, ensuring operational readiness and compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to address any equipment issues promptly.
- Seek opportunities for continuous improvement in warehouse operations, implementing strategies to enhance service levels and reduce costs.
- Foster a culture of innovation and accountability within the warehouse team.
Qualifications (Preferred):
- Ten years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or distribution center operations, with at least five years in a warehouse management role.
- Proven ability to supervise and manage teams effectively while resolving employee issues.
- Exceptional client service and interpersonal skills.
- Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Knowledgeable in supply chain warehouse areas, including:
- Inbound/Outbound Operations
- Inventory Control
- Carrier Management
- Capacity Management
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- High energy, positive attitude, and a servant leader mindset, always seeking opportunities for continuous improvement.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment and machinery as needed.
Work Environment:
- Primarily an indoor warehouse environment exposed to varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Requires occasional extended hours and flexibility in work schedule to meet operational needs.
