Job Overview:
Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Workday Student Trainer with expertise in higher education systems to join their implementation team. This position will play a pivotal role in translating current college business practices into Workday-aligned processes and developing an interactive classroom-based training curriculum for faculty and staff. The goal is to bridge the operational knowledge gap from Colleague (legacy system) to Workday, with future integration into Workday Learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Classroom-Based Training Delivery
- Conduct in-person, hands-on classroom training sessions ("click here, click here" style) for faculty and staff, focusing on practical system navigation and business process alignment.
- Observe, document, and translate current processes into Workday workflows.
- Collaborate with faculty to ensure training materials meet specific departmental needs.
Onsite Process Observation and Documentation
- Initially, work onsite (with a 40/60 onsite/offsite split) to observe operations across multiple campuses, documenting daily processes and needs.
- Collaborate with teams to capture and streamline current business processes, translating them into Workday-compatible formats.
Curriculum Development and Knowledge Bridging
- Develop a curriculum that reflects unique needs and bridges Colleague-based practices with Workday functionalities.
- Translate complex definitions, explanations, and new Workday processes into an accessible training format.
- Future goal: transition classroom instruction to Workday Learning for long-term internal adoption.
Collaboration with Project Stakeholders
- Partner with the curriculum lead and project stakeholders, including Change Management and IT teams, to ensure training consistency.
- Work with Michelle and team members to synchronize business processes and optimize training efficacy for a smooth go-live experience.
