Job Description:
We seek to add two Associates to our Structured Finance Team at FutureProof. The ideal candidates for these Associate roles will have up to 5 years of experience in the renewable-related infrastructure funds or private investment arenas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with FutureProof, Hanwha group’s US affiliates, and outside advisors, to accomplish the corporate goals and objectives of FutureProof
- Support project investment process and transaction pricing decisions
- Maintain a standard set of investment guidelines, including developing and maintaining data-driven support for all key modeling assumptions
- Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to ensure disciplined and accurate project investment, and to develop and maintain data-driven support for all key modelling assumptions
- Review project financial models to ensure consistency, quality control, and best practices
- Evaluate competitive positioning, and identify and drive strategies to improve competitiveness, reduce risk, and enhance economic results
- Collect and analyze market intelligence around renewable energy-related market trends, competition, capex trends, merchant forecasts, and pricing trends
- Collaborate with C-levels to analyze and evaluate existing portfolio and ongoing investment strategy including portfolio valuation and identifying gaps or needs within the pipeline
- Prepare periodic investor updates and support developing relationships with the Co-investment team's LP base and support fundraising activities
- Report to C-levels and related internal and external teams to lead and manage the execution of fundraising, Investments, M&A, and debt financing transactions
- Assist the development of investment committee memos and supporting analysis; discuss capital treatment and relative value with insurance clients
- Provide active input for active portfolio management of transactions in the portfolio, which includes providing oversight and input on transactions and working with portfolio managers to actively manage and continuously assess risk and exposure across the portfolios
Requirements:
- Up to 5 years of experience working in an accounting firm experience in Audit, Tax, or FAS
- Up to 5 years of experience related to alternative investment including real estate assets, conventional power assets, renewable assets, or other social infrastructure assets
- Less than 5 years of project finance, tax equity finance, or investment banking
- Graduate or Undergraduate Degree, MBA preferred
- AICPA or CFA preferred
- Highly proficient in Excel including VBA
- Experience in transactions in audit, tax, M&A, investment, debt & tax financing, or others
- Ability to manage and track large amounts of data
- Experience in deal structuring in terms of tax, accounting, or financing perspective
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills
Work Authorization:
The ideal candidate for this role will have authorization to work in the US before joining Hanwha. This role will not sponsor or help with sponsorship for work authorization in the United States.
