JOB PURPOSE:
- The Mechanical Engineer will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems for robotic products. This role involves working with cross-functional teams, applying engineering principles, and collaborating with suppliers and manufacturing teams. The ideal candidate has strong engineering design skills, experience with robotics, and a passion for product development
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with teams to design and develop components for robotic products
- Use 3D modeling tools (SolidWorks) to create detailed design models
- Optimize designs for manufacturing, performance, and cost
- Lead and participate in design reviews, providing insights to improve designs
- Work with suppliers and manufacturing teams on prototyping, testing, and production
- Oversee prototyping and testing, ensuring thorough documentation
- Plan and execute product revisions and modifications
- Investigate failures and recommend design changes
- Manage engineering documents for end users
- Attend required safety meetings and adhered to company policies
- Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Experience:
- M Minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience
- Experience with SolidWorks software
Preferred Experience:
- Background in outdoor power equipment or robotics (3+ years)
- Familiarity with FEA and CFD
SKILLS:
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Proficient in 3D modeling and SolidWorks
- Experience with robotic systems and design considerations
- Ability to design sheet metal components and weldments
- Self-motivated and team-oriented
- Excellent communication skills
- Project management skills and deadline-driven
- Adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- The physical demands of this role include regular sitting, walking, and standing during the workday. The position also requires the use of hands for handling, touching, or feeling objects, as well as reaching with hands and arms. Occasionally, the role may require climbing or balancing, and the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The position also requires talking and hearing but does not involve tasting or smelling
- Lifting requirements may include up to 35 pounds on occasion. In terms of vision, the role demands close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This role will be performed in a work environment where exposure to wet or humid conditions is minimal. There may be work near moving mechanical parts and at heights, as well as potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The environment could involve exposure to extreme cold or heat (not weather-related), and there is a potential risk of electrical shock. Additionally, vibration may be present
- Noise levels in the work environment are typically moderate
