Position Overview
The Audit Senior will play a key role in conducting audits and providing financial reporting services for clients in the public accounting sector. This position requires a strong understanding of public accounting principles and standards, as well as knowledge of not-for-profit (NFP) and employee benefit plan (EBP) audits. The ideal candidate will also hold a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct audits of financial statements in accordance with public accounting standards
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and related documentation
- Assist in developing audit plans and programs for clients
- Perform risk assessment and identify potential areas for improvements in client's internal controls
- Communicate audit findings and recommendations to clients and senior management
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff members
- Stay updated on changes in public accounting standards and regulations
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of audits
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in public accounting
- Strong understanding of public accounting principles and standards
- Experience with NFP and EBP audits preferred
- CPA certification required
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
