We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our client s Emergency Room (ER) team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in delivering high-quality and efficient emergency care, assessing and treating patients with a diverse range of medical conditions and emergencies.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct rapid and thorough assessments of patients presenting to the Emergency Room.
- Triage patients based on the severity of their conditions and prioritize care accordingly.
- Provide prompt and effective care to patients with acute medical conditions, trauma, injuries, and emergencies.
- Perform or assist in medical procedures, interventions, and resuscitations as required.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory tests, imaging studies, and electrocardiograms, to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, considering the unique needs and conditions of each patient.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Perform or assist in emergency procedures, including intubation, central line placement, and other critical interventions.
- Manage and stabilize critically ill patients in collaboration with emergency physicians.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records, documenting patient assessments, treatments, and responses.
- Ensure compliance with documentation standards and regulatory requirements.
- Effectively communicate with patients, families, and other healthcare team members.
- Collaborate with emergency physicians, nurses, and other staff to provide seamless and coordinated care.
- Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment options, and post-emergency care.
- Provide counseling on preventive measures and follow-up care.
Requirements:
- Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Current NY state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Emergency Room/Urgent Care experience preferred.
- Proficiency in emergency procedures and trauma care.
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills to make rapid and accurate decisions in emergency situations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
Please note- The annual base salary range is $130k to $165k. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
