Position Overview:
This role is ideal for an HR professional ready to take the next step in their career. The Human Resources Generalist will manage key HR functions, from onboarding and payroll processing to employee engagement and compliance. This position will be pivotal in ensuring our team has the support and resources needed to excel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Onboarding & Offboarding: Guide new hires through the onboarding process, including technology setup (apps, iPads, etc.), and ensure smooth offboarding for departing employees.
- Payroll Processing: Oversee payroll preparation and processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in collaboration with the accounting team.
- H-2B and Permanent Resident Administration: Assist with visa administration processes, with training provided as needed.
- Compliance & Record Maintenance: Maintain I-9 records, CDL compliance, and ensure adherence to all federal and state regulations.
- Uniforms & Equipment: Order uniforms and manage any additional required equipment for team members.
- Employee Engagement: Foster a positive work environment through regular engagement activities and support of employee needs.
- Health & Safety: Schedule drug tests, run Motor Vehicle Records (MVR), and assist in workers’ compensation administration.
- Special Projects: Support additional HR projects and process improvements as needed.
- Travel: Be available for travel up to 20% to support HR activities and employee engagement across locations.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of Human Resources experience
- Bilingual (English/ Spanish)
- Strong understanding of HR processes, employment laws, and compliance standards
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems; experience in payroll software preferred
- Professional and proactive approach, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the landscape, service, or similar industries
- Familiarity with H-2B visa or Permanent Resident processes
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification
