Our client, a preeminent plaintiff-side personal injury law firm, is seeking a meticulous and organized Legal Assistant. The ideal candidate will provide crucial support to our legal staff and ensure smooth day-to-day operations in our law team. This role involves handling administrative tasks, preparing legal documents, and maintaining communications and correspondence. The Legal Assistant must exhibit strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys and paralegals in preparing legal documents for Medical Malpractice and large personal injury cases such as pleadings, bills of particulars, discovery demand responses
- Manage and organize case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and easily accessible.
- Maintain calendars and schedules for court appearances, depositions, trials, and meetings.
- Draft correspondence and communicate with clients on behalf of attorneys.
- Prepare and proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and inquiries, directing them as necessary.
- Perform general administrative tasks such as photocopying, scanning, faxing, and filing.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary, or similar role in a law firm working on Medical Malpractice cases.
- Knowledge of relevant legal terminology, principles, and practices.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work output.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
