Job Title: Sr Manufacturing Producibility Engineer – (Aero Engine)

Work Experience:
- BS Manufacturing, or equivalent technical degree
- 10+ years relevant experience in Quality / Manufacturing / Industrial / Supply Chain Engineering
- 5+ years in the Aerospace & Defense Industry preferred.
- Other Manufacturing or Quality Certifications - noteworthy
Industry: Aero-Engine (i.e. gas turbine / turbomachinery)
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide Manufacturing Engineering services (support) to Aerospace & Defense OEM customers in the areas of new product planning/launching, production, or transition of aero-engine hardware and assemblies to achieve stated requirements.
- Manufacturing Engineers utilize numerous industry recognized Quality Processes, Tools, and Systems to perform their work including, but not limited to, MRL (Manufacturing Readiness Level) and its elements – including Control Plans, PFMA, MSA, PPAP, FAI).
- Where “producibility” issues arise and COPQ is high, you will use your expertise and experience to help ascertain, evaluate, propose, and implement changes to the current process via a formal Root Cause – Corrective Action (RC-CA) process - such as 8D, DMAIC, Red X, Zero Defect and may include DoEs.
- OEM work may involve supporting MRO side of business as well in similar manners.
- Provide technical work review / training / mentorship / support to team co-members.
- Engage with customer, customer’s suppliers, et al in a competent, technical, and professional manner (SME/PoC/Lead).
- Support business growth (supporting quoting and interviewing)
Work Experience
Required Skills (Technical Competency) / Attributes:
- Knowledge of modern, high-tech, metals-based, manufacturing processes (including composites and specialized coatings)
- Conducting NPI (New Product Induction), Production, and Transition work toward meeting Part Qualification requirements Control Plans, PFMEA, PPAP, MSA, EFPR, LAI/FAI, as well as Producibility level targets (MRL).
- Understanding of APQP and specifically Material, Process, Inspection Planning, and Process Flow
- Ability to determine true Root Cause(s) of issues within manufacturing environment and then develop/provide Corrective Action(s) that turn off the problem and do not create new issues. Evaluate the validity and feasibility of others doing likewise.
- Familiar with emerging technologies and practices - MBD&I, Industry 4.0 technologies, AI, Predictive Maintenance techniques. Proper use of Lean Mfg concepts.
- Fully conversant in reading and understanding technical drawings incorporating GD&T
- Understanding of proper gage selection (all types – manual, automated, contact, non-contact, non-destructive, etc) and their proper use.
- Ability to establish/interpret/review manufacturing and quality requirements including KPC, KPV, KPI, Process Capability (Cp, Cpk, Pp, Ppk) and SPC charting.
- Knowledge of proper tooling, part handling, transporting, and storage
- Interacting with electronic based MRP / SW / WI systems (input/mining/extracting/analyzing)
- Reviewing/Approving work of others.
- Establish/build customer relations – create sustained customer champions.
Desired Skills / Attributes:
- Manufacturing experience in producing Gas Turbine engine hardware.
- Familiarity with AS9100-D, AS13100, AS9145, AS9110, AS6081, ISO 9001-2015, TS-16949, FAA/FARs, DCMA/DoD, and related ISO standards)
- Familiarity with CNC Programs. Read and Understand CMM Report.
- CAD work (NX noteworthy)
- Product Lifecycle Mngt tools (TeamCenter, Solumina, Windchill)
- Understanding of A&D industry MRB process
- Advanced MS office tools (Excel – pivot, charts, lookups, macros; PowerPoint - tech presentations, training; Word – procedural writing). Data reporting tools (Power BI, Qlik, etc.)
- Using Minitab, R, JMP, SPSS or related tools
- Presenting technical data/results to customer and regulatory representatives

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Travel: Domestic / International Travel. 25% requiring multiple week travel at times.
- Ability to use personal transportation (work, customer, other).
- Shift: 1St shift M-F. Flexible without compromise to our customer’s needs.
- FLSA Status: Full-Time exempt (salary) role, 40hr/wk basis w/ company benefits including paid OT (for customer work) and yearly bonus incentives. Unpaid lunch.
