We are seeking a seasoned Superintendent to join a top-tier mechanical contracting firm in Richmond, VA. This role requires a strong leader with a deep understanding of all mechanical trades to oversee large-scale commercial and industrial projects. Day-to-Day Duties:
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and cultivate a safety-focused culture on every job site
- Plan and monitor daily construction activities, tracking progress and managing schedules
- Work with the Supply Chain team to oversee material procurement, ensuring that all resources arrive on time and align with project needs
- Lead project coordination meetings, providing clear communication to all involved parties
- Review construction plans and blueprints, troubleshoot challenges, and oversee project layouts
- Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to ensure project timelines, budgets, and specifications are met
- Supervise on-site crews and subcontractors, providing hands-on guidance and addressing any project-related issues as they arise
- Monitor quality control standards, ensuring that all work adheres to the company’s high standards and client expectations
Ideal Qualifications:
- Over five years of experience in commercial or industrial construction supervision
- Proven expertise managing projects with a scope of work exceeding $10 million
- Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical and plumbing trades, including safety protocols (OSHA 30 certification required)
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capability to stay composed under pressure
- Proficiency with construction technology (e.g., tablets, laptops, Microsoft Teams) for daily reporting and communication
- Ability to foster a collaborative, results-oriented team environment and prioritize tasks efficiently
