My client is looking for an experienced technical, commercial SaaS attorney. This is a HYBRID role requiring you to be in the office 2 days per week. This role requires leading commercial and technical transactions and supporting business objectives. The goal will be to grow sales in the US, focusing on enterprise cloud transactions. Candidate needs to be highly experienced with data privacy law and security. Must have knowledge of global SaaS trends. Besides improving contracting processes, you will be responsible for process improvements, global initiatives, etc. This hybrid role is in Hoboken NJ.
Tasks:
- Lead complex commercial transactions across sales, product, and procurement functions.
- Perform duties as a legal representative on multiple cross-functional teams that drive client’s strategy and business objectives.
- Maintain and build strong internal and external relationships while balancing the needs of client’s business strategy and priorities.
- Possess deep knowledge of relevant aspects of United States and international laws concerning commercial terms, including data privacy and cybersecurity.
- Negotiate and draft outbound sales-related contracts, including SaaS and software license contracts.
- Be prepared for changes to, and provide advisement on, relevant laws impacting client’s commercial activities and its customers.
- Produce continuous improvement of standard form agreements, playbooks, contract templates, and legal processes.
Requirements:
- Legal degree with academic credentials
- 3+ years as a licensed practicing attorney with at least 1+ years’ experience in SaaS, cloud computing, and enterprise software transactions
- License must be active and can come from any state
- Come from a fast-paced technology company experienced with transaction experience with complex contract and/or licensing agreements, working with partners
- Past in-house experience required, and previous experience in the legal department of a U.S. publicly traded company preferred

- Exposure to compliance, data security, privacy, and intellectual property matters, and a strong working knowledge of data protection laws and trends
