Job Description
Select’s Remediation Project Specialist develops, implements, and maintains a comprehensive hazardous materials control, mitigation and response program. Serves as RSO for the Mudplant, ensures quality of current RPP and ODH radioactive material license. The role operationally guides planning, adherence to plan, and final status review for remedial projects.
The essential job functions include, but are not limited to
- Performs HAZ-Waste shipping for materials handled under our ODH License.
- Conducts inspections and investigations of facilities and sites where hazardous materials are stored and used.
- Prepares reports to management on investigations and evaluations of hazardous waste materials.
- Evaluates hazardous materials packaging, transportation, treatment and disposal vendors for acceptability.
- Enforces appropriate regulations, codes and laws and acts as liaison with regulatory agencies.
- Administers hazardous materials minimization programs, provides training, and develops and maintains quality assurance programs.

Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a geology, engineering, biology, chemistry, or a related science discipline.
- At least 3 years of work experience with groundwater and/or soil remediation of petroleum.
- hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, or heavy metal contamination.
- Knowledgeable of contaminant fate and transport in groundwater systems.
- OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER Training.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general familiarity with other MS Office Programs.
- Ability to understand and interpret construction drawings.
- Mechanically inclined.
- Willingness to work with mid to senior level Project Scientists.
- Demonstrates a strong desire to learn, work hard, and achieve more.
- Capable of driving a pickup truck with trailer and comply with DOT regulations.

Compensation Information
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Physical Demands and Exposures
- Traditional Monday through Friday, 8 – 5pm, unless operations dictate otherwise.
- Involves Traveling 50% of the time and sitting for extended periods of time.
- Exposure to noise levels requiring the use of hearing protection.
- Needs high degree of concentration in a busy area.
- Ability to individually lift: Maximum 25 lbs.
