Energy Regulatory Associate - Austin, Texas
Our client, an Am Law 100 firm, is seeking an Energy Regulatory Associate with 4-6 years of experience to join their Austin, TX office.
Overview:
This is a national law firm with multiple locations across the United States. They are committed to retaining, recruiting, developing, and promoting talented lawyers and business professionals with diverse backgrounds and experiences. This role will work primarily with attorneys in the firm’s Energy & Natural Resources business unit.
Qualifications:
- 4-6 years of experience
- Experience handling regulatory and compliance matters before the Texas Public Utility Commission and other state energy regulatory commissions, as well as matters before or involving the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) or other ISO/RTOs or organized power markets
- Experience involving advocacy before state utility commissions, or involving power transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, power sales, and related matters, would be beneficial
- Commitment to the community, superior interpersonal skills and a demonstrated record of working well under pressure
- Exceptional judgment, the ability to effectively handle multiple projects, and the ability to articulate legal strategies and courses of action
- JD from an accredited university and excellent academic credentials
- Texas bar license or ability to obtain one as soon as possible
