Position Overview:
The Senior Practice Administrator will oversee daily operations, ensure quality patient care, and lead a team in a fast-paced, multi-location ophthalmology setting. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of healthcare management, financial oversight, and regulatory compliance within a medical practice. The ideal candidate will drive efficiency and growth while maintaining a high standard of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership: Oversee day-to-day practice operations, ensuring smooth workflow, optimal scheduling, and resource allocation across multiple locations.
Financial Management: Monitor budgets, control expenses, and maximize revenue through effective billing, collections, and reimbursement practices.
Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise clinic staff, fostering a supportive and productive work environment and ensuring high levels of patient satisfaction.
Patient Experience: Develop strategies to improve patient engagement, satisfaction, and care quality, addressing any issues or concerns proactively.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the practice adheres to all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, OSHA, and state-specific guidelines.
Technology and Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in clinical and administrative systems, including the EMR system and operational workflows.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business management, or a related field (MBA or MHA preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of healthcare management experience, with 2+ years in a senior administrative role within ophthalmology or a similar specialty
- Strong understanding of ophthalmic practice management, billing processes, and healthcare regulations
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in EMR systems and medical billing software
