Russell Tobin is seeking a Repair Technician for an American multinational conglomerate operating in the fields of industry, worker safety, healthcare, and consumer goods in Red Wing, MN.
Job Title: Repair Technician
Location: Red Wing, MN (on-site)
Job Type: Contract
Length: 4 months (with potential for extension)
Shifts: 1st or 2nd (see hours below)
Pay Rate: $32 - $37 per hour
Hours: 1st shift starts at 6am and runs until 2:30pm. Currently the team is working 10 hour days on first shift which adds an hour on both ends of the normal shift hours. This will not be a requirement for persons learning the job but may become a requirement as the duration of employment increases.
2nd shift: 2:30pm - 11pm.
Overview:
This is a short-term project for a life safety product, and training will take place at the beginning.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect and repair defective or damaged safety blocks.
- Employees must be able to perform the essential functions (EFA) of the position with or without a reasonable accommodation. EFA's are available upon request.
- Visually examines returned block for damage.
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
- Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
- Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts.
- Lubricates and cleans parts.
- Support non-conformances (NC’s) with product repair
- Source & manage Block Repair parts inventory as needed
- Further develop technical, administrative, and interpersonal skills required to competently fulfill all varieties of tasks within the department
- Participate in Idea Card program and Continuous Improvement activities and generating ideas for improvements.
- Responsible for ensuring that every effort is taken to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. Report any hazard, accident, injury or near-miss immediately to supervisor or Lead.
- Take every reasonable precaution under the circumstances to prevent an accident or injury from occurring. Safety is the first priority of everyone. If uncertain about the safety of any task or job assignment, consult with the immediate supervisor.
- Safety Team Members: Conduct daily area inspections to identify hazards and implement corrective actions. Communicate employee concerns to leadership. Serve as Safety Champions and lead by example.
- Other duties may be assigned or required by the Supervisor or Leads.
Desired Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma/GED, or higher
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience with blueprints and repair diagrams as an assembly aid
- Trained and signed off on the ability to repair 6 block styles; completed OJT forms
- Minimum one (1) year experience in Block Repair/Technical Services Repair department
