Position:
Electrical Process Engineer
Location:
Based from home. Up to 50% travel (USA Nationwide) to projects, home office, and trainings
Reports To:
Operations Manager (Sync)
Preferred Background:
Bachelor’s in engineering preferred. Minimum five years experience in commissioning of utility scale renewable projects and substation or apparatus/ electrical equipment testing preferred. Four years in P&C, Plant Controls and Power Systems commissioning preferred.
Required Skillsets:
- High understanding in NFPA 70E and OSHA pertaining to work
- High level safety program and culture administration
- Mastery in building, growing, and supporting field teams with respect to standard work processes and testing procedures
- Expert level in schedule evaluation and identification of critical path
- Expert level understanding in construction means and methods
- Highly proficient in process improvement creation
- Expert level Computer skills MS word, Excel and MS PowerPoint
- Competency in contract scope and change negotiation
- Professional level in communication and reporting to executives
- Strong understanding of engineering and Commissioning
- Proficient in the electrical testing field including but not limited to: LV, MV and HV testing of switchgear, breakers, cables, grounding, transformers, protective relaying (secondary and primary injection).
- Professional level in lockout tagout procedures and energy isolation
- Professional level electrical equipment inspection
- Proficient in English
Job Description:
To act as the Process Engineer for a select group of qualified electrical persons (QEP), their training, tools, procedures, and program adherence. This position will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and training on Standard Work Instructions, electrical equipment inspections, and testing procedures. The Process Engineer will directly report the Sync Operations Manager. Process Engineer will also create and refine the apprenticeship program. This position will also hold pertinent electrical licenses, manage project documentation/lessons learned, generate testing documentation, attain and attend OEM trainings and certifications.
Job Responsibilities:
- Strategic planning support to company executives
- Training Compliance – Tracking when certificates lapse, annual OJT’s,
- Provide OJT/proficiency exams, Qualified Electrical worker evaluations
- Process and procedure creation, review, revision tracking
- Safety/ESP audits Creating and implementation of training, policies and procedures
- Holding Electrical Licenses for Company as qualifier
- Preparing Job Closeouts and Lessons Learned
- Managing and training of quality inspections and documentation
- Attend OEM trainings and obtain certifications
- Apprenticeship program management
- Provides leadership, guidance, prioritization, and direction to commissioning and QEP teams
- Solves critical portfolio items which pose risk to the client/owner’s critical objectives
- Assist with securing new work and expanding services
- Work with Executives on strategic planning for company
- Work with Executives on streamlining, creating, and implementing a more scalable business plan
- Various tasks in the operations of the core company
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring and/or tape.
- Able to use shotgun stick, hang grounds and switch in substation.
- Prolonged periods of standing with intermittent kneeling or bending.
- Must be physically capable of walking on the jobsite on varied, uneven terrain and/or varied temperatures and weather elements.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to climb a ladder.
