Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Estimator with a robust background in commercial construction and tenant improvement projects. The Estimator will be responsible for evaluating project costs, preparing accurate estimates, and providing critical support to ensure successful project execution. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of construction processes, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, subcontractors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Estimation: Develop comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for commercial construction and tenant improvement projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
- Bid Preparation: Prepare detailed bid proposals and participate in the bidding process, ensuring all project requirements are addressed and costs are competitively priced.
- Project Analysis: Review project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination: Solicit and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers, and establish relationships to secure the best pricing and terms.
- Budget Management: Assist in the preparation of project budgets and financial forecasts, and monitor cost performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Communication: Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to ensure alignment on project scope, cost, and timeline.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports on estimate accuracy, project costs, and financial performance to senior management.
- Compliance: Ensure all estimates comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Estimator in commercial construction with a strong focus on tenant improvement projects.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
- Skills: Proficient in estimating software (e.g., ProEst, RSMeans, or similar), Microsoft Office Suite, and strong mathematical and analytical abilities.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction processes, cost control, and industry best practices.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing estimates and analyzing project requirements.
- Problem-Solving: Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
