Position Description:
The mechanical engineer position plans and develops power plant equipment design, modification and installation. The position is responsible for organizing highly complex activities for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of engineering projects.
Essential Functions:

Develop, evaluate, and coordinate design of equipment or systems.
Estimate development times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
Transition design from engineering through manufacturing, installation and commissioning
Oversee development of engineering tasks.

Physical Demands:
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Exposure to noise, grease, fumes, gases, electrical energy, and inclement weather conditions. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Required Education, Experience, Certification and Licenses:
High School Diploma or GED
BS degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
Minimum 8 years related experience
Design experience in the major equipment, structural support or mechanical systems (preferred)
Nuclear industry experience (preferred)
