Job Title: Research Animal Health Technician
Shift: Monday to Friday, 10 AM - 7 PM (Some holiday and weekend hours may be required)

Job Purpose:
To maintain and support the health of research animals, ensuring compliance with all study requirements and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to safety and security policies, maintaining a thorough understanding of applicable regulations and internal requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all procedures and data collection protocols throughout studies.
- Provide preventative and maintenance care for various animal species, including vaccinations, sample collections, and physical exams.
- Support post-operative care by monitoring recovery, conducting pain assessments, and managing medication administration.
- Communicate effectively through electronic medical records, emails, and verbal interactions with veterinarians.
- Process clinical pathology samples and manage inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Maintain clean and organized lab areas, reporting any health issues to the veterinarian and study director.
- Induce and monitor anesthesia, ensuring the physiological well-being of animals during studies.
- Stay updated on veterinary techniques and equipment through continuous learning and training.
- Assist in necropsies and pathology assessments as directed by veterinarians.
Quality Systems Duties:
- Uphold quality standards in all aspects of work, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- AA Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience, with a focus on certified veterinary technicians (CVT).
- Experience with animals in a pre-clinical setting, particularly pigs, dogs, and sheep.
- Familiarity with GDP documentation and GLP studies.
