Position Summary: The Litigation Attorney will be responsible for managing a variety of cases through all stages of litigation, from inception through trial and appeals, if necessary. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in litigation, strong legal research and writing skills, and the ability to strategize effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in civil litigation and other legal proceedings, drawing from thorough legal knowledge and strategic acumen.
- Conduct legal research, prepare pleadings, and draft motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Manage discovery processes, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, taking and defending depositions, and handling subpoenas.
- Provide pre-trial and trial advocacy, including appearances, hearings, and negotiations.
- Engage in settlement negotiations and mediation processes to achieve favorable resolutions for clients.
- Advise clients on legal rights and options, maintaining clear communication and a focus on client needs and goals.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active state bar membership in Illinois.
- [3-5]+ years of experience in litigation, including trial experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to clearly and effectively communicate complex legal concepts.
- Demonstrated success in managing all phases of litigation.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
